Coronavirus countermeasures

To all Ventura residents from the General Manager:

In response to recent directives issued by the CDC and the U.S. federal government in an attempt to mitigate transmission of the Corona virus, the Ventura Clubhouse, fitness center and 19th Hole restaurant will be closed until further notice on Wednesday March 18 at 5:00PM.  The restaurant will remain open until that time, however the 19th Hole bar is closed in response to today’s local and state government prohibition on alcohol sales in all bars and restaurants. For the time being, the Ventura golf course and pro shop will remain open during normal business hours, unless or until the government issues further orders restricting social gatherings. The clubhouse pool will also remain open, unless or until the situation changes – however all pool rules and regulations will remain in effect and must be complied with. Alcohol and glass containers are strictly prohibited in the pool area, and residents are requested to convey their own trash out of the pool area when they leave. Security will be monitoring the pool area closely, and disregard of established rules will result in the pool gates being locked.

These are extraordinary and unprecedented times, requiring extraordinary and unprecedented measures. Monitor the internet and television broadcasts regularly so you are advised and prepared for what comes next. There is no need to panic, but be prepared in the likely event that the government issues an emergency “shelter in place” order. Keep in mind the basic directives: limit your exposure to large groups, wash your hands regularly and thoroughly, and avoid touching your face. Most importantly, keep your distance and limit socialization with others unless it is absolutely necessary. The situation is certain to get worse before it gets better – but things WILL return to normal eventually.
