Ventura Community Cat Project Update – June 2020
June 1st is the start of Hurricane Season! Don’t wait for an emergency; get ready now! Prepare a Pet Emergency Supply Kit – 3 days of food and water; all medicines and medical records in a ziploc bag; a collar with ID tags, harness or leash; crate or pet carrier with a blanket or familiar item and sanitation supplies such as litter box, litter, paper towels, trash bags, newspapers. Create a plan if an emergency comes up. Research pet friendly lodging, including family and friends, or boarding services. Never leave your pet behind! Stay informed about the types of emergencies in your area. Make sure your pet is up to date on vaccines and micro-chipped in case you are separated. COVID-19 UPDATE: If you are experiencing financial difficulty feeding and caring for your pet, VCCP wants to help. We will provide low cost spay/neuter services for owned pets (cats or dogs) living in Ventura through SNiP-it of Central Florida and will assist with food, litter and other supplies as needed until our funds run out.
